JOHNSTONE
Chris Johnstone is an Associate with planningAlliance, as well as our sister practice rePlan, and has 15 years’ experience in social impact assessment, community planning and stakeholder consultation for public and private sector projects in Canada, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. Chris has a particular expertise in poverty alleviation, developed over ten years working with the United Nations Development Program. He also served for seven years as Canada’s Honorary Consul and Development Program Manager in Mongolia, and received a DFAIT Merit Award for exceptional and distinguished contribution to public service. Since joining our team, Chris has managed a variety of large, multi-year community development projects in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
Chris graduated from the University of Toronto in 1987 and received a Master of Arts in History from the University of Waterloo in 1990, with a particular focus on Canada’s refugee policy and record of international development assistance.
