DOWNSVIEW AREA SECONDARY PLAN REVIEW STUDY

The Downsview Secondary Plan area encompasses a unique natural, cultural and heritage landscape in the City of Toronto. planningAlliance was commissioned by the City of Toronto to develop a planning policy framework to support the preparation of an updated Secondary Plan for the entire Plan area, as well as provide specific direction for implementing zoning and urban design guidelines.

The Plan implements the Federal Government’s vision of Canada’s first urban national park (Parc Downsview Park), which is fully integrated with adjacent employment and residential areas and serviced by an emerging new transit hub that connects the TTC subway, GO Transit, and York Region Transit services.

To date, planningAlliance has developed an emerging preferred option, however, the plan will not be finalized until summer 2009.
