Milton Intensification Strategy

The Town of Milton is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada.  Primarily a suburban municipality, Milton retained planningAlliance to develop the first-ever intensification strategy for the community.  Working within the policy context provided by the provincial Growth Plan and the Region of Halton Official Plan, the intensification strategy sets out a clear plan for accommodating a significant portion of future growth within the Town’s existing urban area.  The intensification strategy sets out a design vision and policy framework for sensitive intensification and redevelopment in the Town’s historic downtown, the creation of a new transit-oriented district around the commuter rail station, the identification of new intensification areas throughout the Town, and a framework for context-sensitive infill within and around stable residential neighbourhoods.
