Seaton Neighbourhood Planning Study

Neighbourhoods 17, 20 and 21 are provincially owned lands in the Seaton area in north Pickering. Neighbourhood Plans are required by the City in support of an Official Plan Amendment prior to submission of draft plans of subdivision.

In accordance with the Central Pickering Development Plan (prepared by pA in 2006), pA prepared Neighbourhood Plans for Neighbourhoods 17, 20 and 21, which include natural heritage, residential, mixed use and employment lands.

pA is currently preparing Draft Plans of Subdivision for the provincial lands in all six Seaton neighbourhoods.

pA led a team of sub-consultants to successfully complete the project. Sub-consultants services included: site servicing and stormwater, transportation, natural heritage, market analysis, employment lands analysis, landscape design and urbanism, sustainable design, cultural heritage and retail market analysis.

pA submitted the draft Neighbourhood Plan applications for N17, N20 and N21 to the City in March 2011. A statutory public meeting was held in June and the plans were endorsed by Council in September 2011. pA has also been proposing applications for each draft plan of subdivision for those areas and the application for the N21 Phase 1 employment lands plan of subdivision was submitted in 2011.
