
Hugo Bonilla
Hugo Bonilla has worked as an Economist and Urban/Environmental Planner in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Panama as well as in Canada and Europe on topics related to economic development, strategic planning, capacity building, participative planning, and environmental and social impact assessments, among many others. Hugo has been part of the rePlan team for two years, during which time he has led social impact assessment reviews and social monitoring planning in the Dominican Republic and livelihoods restoration and community development planning and implementation in Panama, in both cases demonstrating refined community engagement and community development planning skills. In Panama, Hugo also successfully led land acquisition processes for the Resettlement Action Plan. Before to joining rePlan, Hugo worked with multiple institutions such as UNDP, Free the Children, Insurance Bureau of Canada, and Multienlace Economic Consulting and actively and effectively engaged with Government, NGO and community representatives. Hugo holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from York University and a Graduate Diploma in International Cooperation for Human Development from Universidad Internacional de Andalucia, Spain.
