Jason is an experienced urban and regional planner who excels at applying planning and design solutions to a wide range of urban, resource and regional challenges. Over his 15 year career, Jason has spent more than six years working overseas full-time with public and private sector clients on the application of international best practice to various resource and regional planning projects in Africa and the Middle East. He always brings an awareness of downstream impacts and development possibilities to his work and is able to optimize social benefits from deadline-driven resource projects. Jason has extensive, hands-on experience in the assessment and management of land acquisition and resettlement programs, including serving as a Resettlement Specialist for Newmont in Ghana, during which time he prepared numerous action plans and monitoring reports for the IFC and contributed substantially to the Ahafo Project’s eventual approval by the IFC Board. He is focused on regional, resource and city planning, urban design and community and stakeholder consultation in rapidly growing regions of the world. Jason has led or contributed to a number of award-winning plans and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. Jason has combined a BSc from the University of Victoria with a Masters of Environmental Studies (Pl) from York University.
