
Rei Tasaka
Rei has seven years of experience in a range of projects from community design and site planning to large-scale, mixed-use master planning as well extensive experience in public consultation in both in Ontario and in Europe. Rei has been heavily involved in Toronto’s Waterfront initiatives: she contributed to the development of the East Bayfront West Precinct (block plan and urban design guidelines) and the Portlands (Leslie Street Greening plan, Unwin Corridor concept plans) area. Rei worked on the master planning and visioning for Cork’s South Docklands in Ireland which proposed a sustainable design framework and implementation strategy to create a diverse waterfront community. Since joining rA, Rei has led the design for a new community within a major remaining greenfield lands in northern Oshawa, the Dana Village Local Development Plan for potential future tourism infrastructure and the conceptual design and implementation strategy for Dundas Street West in Toronto. She is currently involved in the neighbourhood plans for Seaton in North Pickering and Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Land Study design in Oakville. As an intern architect Rei has been involved in residential and office tower development, exhibitions, and commercial interior renovations in Tokyo, Chicago and Toronto.
