Sam Muwanga-Kitzuni
Sam is a Civil Engineer with 24 years of experience managing resettlement and infrastructure development projects in the mining, transportation, water, building, and municipal services sectors in Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada. His project management experience includes feasibility studies, preparation of designs and contract documentation, construction supervision, and contract administration. One of Sam’s specializations is the identification of various stakeholders (e.g., funding agencies, governments, end-users, affected people and the private sector), and the integration of their requirements into the planning, design, implementation, operation and maintenance of development projects. As a result, he is highly versed in the creation and implementation of stakeholder engagement mechanisms in the project development cycle in order to promote sustainability and ownership. This experience has been built from working for different client organizations including international consulting firms, multi-lateral funding agency, industry clients and government ministries. Sam is an advocate of inclusion of socio-economic costs and benefits in the planning and appraisal of projects.
